A invenção da eletricidade

No primeiro sentido sério, o cientista William Gilbert examinou a eletricidade. No final do século XVI, ele examinou a relação entre magnetismo e eletricidade estática. Também determinou que as cargas elétricas são chamadas de menos e mais. Em 1767, Joseph Priestley descobriu que as cargas elétricas eram atraídas umas às outras de uma forma que era inversamente proporcional ao quadrado da distância entre eles. Em 1729, Stephen Gray descobriu que algumas substâncias, como metais, foram eletrocutadas.

Em 1800, Alessandro volta inventou a bateria elétrica. A coisa mais importante sobre a eletricidade é o fato de que ele começa depois disso. A invenção desta bateria é a primeira fonte de energia fiável e contínua e orientou todas as outras invenções e estudos. Hans Christian Orsted, em 1820, observou que uma agulha do ímã foi detectada perto de um condutor que passa através da corrente elétrica, resultando em um campo magnético nas vizinhanças condutoras da corrente elétrica. Em 1908, Davy separou dois eletrodos de carvão transportando corrente elétrica e conseguiu criar o arco. Mostrou que a eletricidade poderia ser convertida na luz ou na energia térmica.

O homem que fez a definição mais realista de eletricidade foi Benjamin Franklin. De acordo com Benjamin Franklin, havia um fluxo elétrico dentro de todas as substâncias na natureza. A fricção entre certas substâncias causou uma porção deste fluxo para passar para a outra substância. Dizem-nos hoje que este fluxo é composto de elétrons carregados negativamente.

O uso da eletricidade fora dos laboratórios descascando o assunto da pesquisa, começou a ser usado na revista e na indústria, foi realizado na segunda metade do século XIX. Zenobe-Theopline Gramme mostrou que a energia elétrica produzida pode ser eficientemente transmitida e utilizada através de linhas aerotransportadas. A. Edison fundou a rede de distribuição em New York com o primeiro centro de produção elétrica em 1881, e o começo do uso difundido da eletricidade na indústria e nos repousos.
